Well, that's kind of an open ended question. A better plug can help a little, but you also have to consider where the fuel puddles in the combustion chamber before the plug ignites the mixture. If one had the resources to conclude this (wet flow test the block and heads), then you could index each plug accordingly. Honestly, the best way of getting rid of carbon build up completely is to switch fuel to ethanol. You should see the results of carbon build up removal from a motor that had ran C-16 fuel for two years! The head, valves and pistons looked like the had just come out of the hot-tank. A/F ratio on C-16 was about 12.5:1 and on E-85 was about 8.2:1.

A couple of fuel cleaners work wonders on high milage applications: my personal favorite is BG 44K.

I have say that the 3923's are a great plug...for about 3,000 miles. And then they just fall off tremendously. Any power that I had was gone. The idle went back to the stock shimmy-shake and MPG...? Not once did I see an increase in gas mileage.

I put the Bosch Fusions in at the recommendation of a friend and from a few people on here and elsewhere who run them in their 4.7 Magnum Rams and Dakotas. I have to admit to being a skeptic, but what the hell right? Well, the first week in they got a workout. I headed to LA for a business meeting. 220 miles round trip, I averaged around 19 mpg (with some fairly open freeway before hitting LA's stop and go BS). And then the second weekend I did a 15-1/2 hour, 920 mile turnaround to Stockton to pick up a puppy for my daughter (yeah I know....waaaay too far for a dog). Anyway, I averaged better then 19.5 mpg averaging about 70-80 mph. Around town I am getting 14.5 or so.

I think they perform great. 1.) I still have a slight "stock plug idle shimmy-shake". BFD! It runs great. It's not like I am sitting still in it for long anyway. 2.) My power is back. I can pull a hill with my sea-doos or with a U-Haul full without it's a ***** stuck in it's throat and can pass a geriatric nightmare or a cell-phone-talking diva with no problem. So, the throttle response is stellar. 3.) My MPG is averaging with highway and streets about 15.5 to 17. 4.) I don't have to change them for at least 70,000 miles. Now that is a BIG plus!

They have been in now about 3-1/2 weeks and I can't complain. I would recommend them, but it is your call and not every truck we drive runs exactly the same.
