big problems
He said well we close in an hour,I told him I'll get back to ya!
So I pull out that road side assistance booklet thumbed threw it & called,I told them the story and they said the towing is free to the nearest dodge stealership and the work will be covered for a fee of a $100 because IM 138 miles over.
Well I came to the dealership with my truck and the Guy who I spoke with on the phone said you made it just in time, btw why did you get towed by them we'd would be cheaper,I looked at him and ask how can you beat free?!?!
This Fu(king Clown was going to hit me up for towing and a couple grand for rear end work.Till I did a little home work and told him whats up.I got the Ahhhh..why didn't you say what you had for mileage? I was like C'ome on Dude, I told you what it was how about we get back to basic's and just fix my Fu(king truck and take the kick back from Dodge and lets try not to double dip Ok!
I hate to say it but that whole thing is wrong, some people will steal the shirt off your back and not think twice about it!
I hope all goes well with your truck,I wish you luck!

well im getting screwed big time... they are blaming my failure on an underdrive pully... said it could have bent valves which in all honesty i DO NOT BELIEVE ONE BIT!!! how the *** could a underdrive pully do that? i dont get it... now they dont want to cover it.. this is total ****en bull****... now they want to sent it back to the dealer where i bought it to look at it..
Ouch that sucks man.
The only thing I can think of is on a lot of newer V8's the pulley on the crankshaft also has the harmonic damper in it, I'm not sure if ours are like that or not.

well its the same exact pully just smaller..... nothing else is different and the 08- abeyond have the smaller one thats why they push more ponies... this is complete bull-siht and im waiting to find out if the valves could have gotten f-ed also.......
Frenchy being his usual helpful self.
An underdrive pulley has nothing directly to do with the valvetrain or bent valves. Yes it is attached to the crank, which drives the timing chain, but that is a rediculous connection to make. Unless, like Altair said, they are claiming the change in harmonic balancing caused vibrations and yadda-yadda...I don't buy it though.
So, are you using an aftermarket pulley or the pulley from an '08?
I want to know, from the mechanics,
1) Are your valves actually bent?
2) What caused the timing chain to break?
3) How does an underdrive pulley factor into that?
It sounds like they are trying to get out of a fairly expensive warranty claim.

well tomorrow its being shipped back to my buddies garage(stock pully back on) then going to the dealer i bought it from... hopefully i pray to god this works and this could be the end of it...
I was being helpful!
Underdrive pulleys cause problems...
What the hell, how is that not being helpful?
You really don't need to post **** like that...
And Joe, there are a lot of other things the new 08 Dakota v8s have that help to add up the extra power... such as two spark plugs per cylinder, with a high 9.8:1 compression ratio, better port flow, they made significant revisions to the induction system, reduced reciprocating mass via a lightweight piston/rod assembly, and reduced accessory drive speed..

thats the underdrive pully.. duh
and i know alot about the newer v8s so i kinda got the point but hey it worked nicely.. i am very still in denial that this is the cause of it bc i believe that the surp belt would have been shreded if that was the case
good points tho there frenchy!
