Default Question for those that have leveled their trucks

I use mine for towing. Anyone that has leveled (either lowering the back or raising the front) also tow with your trucks? How does that work? Once I hook up the boat, the additional weight levels the truck out. I figured if I leveled it, I would have the feeling of driving up hill. Is there a airbag solution for us? Thinking if I leveled it and had air bags in the back, I could add air to always have the level stance.

I'm sure airbags in the back could be installed pretty easily. Solid axle and leaf springs like every other truck.

If you level the truck it will defintely look goofy with any real load on the back.

Or you could just lift the rear too.

The 05 I just did is the 3rd I've done (1st 3rd gen though). Mine are used for towing and also toting a snowmobile or quad around on occasion. I've always gone with airshocks and added air as necessary to keep my headlights on the road. Doesn't take much to level it. I think you WILL need to do something if you're adding much of a load to the back and moving it any distance - especially at night? FWIW

Well, it wont. I meant if you do the 2" leveling kit up front you could do a 2" lift in the rear too, you get lift but the rear is 2" higher in the air again, for towing and loading.

The only way to sit level when towing, and when your not towing is to get rear air bags. There really popular, inexpensive, and I hear placed like firestone has and installs them for you, if you didn't want to do it yourself.

I would imagine that adding a leaf in each side would help....or a 1" block kit in the rear

When I tow my car to the track, I'm at about 4400lbs. I have the 1.5" kit in the front. Truck sits just a tad high in the front.

i put the Air Lift (slam air) air bags on mine and they work great. i have the lowering shackles, lowering shackle extensions, and removed the third from the bottom leaf spring to get the truck down where i wanted it. had to get shorter bump stops and shorter shocks . used some toxic rear shocks they work pretty good. remember when you put air bags on we have a boxed frame , have drill both sides and watch for brake lines . (it's not real easy)
