can we hook up subs to our stock head unit?
just checking to see if i have to change my unit before i go and build/buy stuff...

I would have to say no, unless you tie the subs into the rear speakers but This dosen't have a very good sound, aftermarket head unit will also give you more options depending on the unit. and the sound difference is worth the cost.

oh i know all about aftermarket ones.. im just trying to figure out if i could hook up subs for the time being to the stock crap... ill be getting a mygig eventually but for now i want to be able to use the stocker....

if you run an amp off the factory head unit yes, the factory head unit, does not put out enough umphs to get the sub up to load,

Yes you can, it won't sound as good though. If your amp has line level inputs you can tap off the speakers and hook up to that. If not you will need a line out converter to go between the signal from the factory head and the amp's inputs.

Yes, i had a line output convertor for a while with my stock headunit..
I eventually got Aftermarket and have much more control over the sub, so happy about it.

well for now i want to keep it but when i get a good deal on a mygig i want to go that route... but as long as i know i can keep stocker for now im cool with that...
