Why would the dealer repair a paint chip from a rock?
Would they repair a car after an accident, under warranty?
If it's that big of an issue, call the insurance company... they'll pay to fix it for you, then you'll pay an extra cost for making a claim...
It's a truck, it's gonna get paint chips and such, it sucks but it is what it is...

The better question is, why SHOULDN'T they cover it? Comparing body rust from paint chips to body damage from an accident is like comparing apples to...sushi. Hell, the extended warranty I purchased even covers blowouts and/or tire damage from road conditions or foreign objects.
With today's automotive paints and clear coats, a vehicle's finish shouldn't chip (and rust) like it does from rock dings. The finishes on newer vehicles anymore is garbage, and there's just no excuse for it. That's the bottom line.

So, basically, if I were behind someone on a gravel road, and we were going, ohhhh, let's say 50 mph...
And I didn't notice rocks were hitting my truck, I should be able to bring it into the dealer, and tell them I want the whole front repainted, at their cost, because rocks, something, you can't stop, hit my truck?
Kinda like if a deer hit your truck, that's something you can't really stop... should the dealer repair that damage, at their cost, as well?

Second, since ANY new car comes with rust coverage included in the warranty, if the body has rust from 'incidental' damage, it should be covered. Period.
