Default Flowmaster or Y pipe?

Hey guys, back again with another question that has been answered probably numerous times. I did a few searches on this but couldn't find the answer so I am turning to you guys.

I am planning on getting an exhaust for my 07 Quad Cab 3.7 Dak and I am debating which Muffler I should get. I know a lot of you guys like the Cherry Bomb and Gibson, but those are just out of my price range.

I want to get either the Flowmaster Super 40 or the Super 44. The thing is, I don't want my truck to sound all ricey ( which i know is hard considering its a V6 ). I really want a low rumble type sound.

Does anyone know if just a Y pipe out the back will sound good on the v6? Thanks for any input haha I am fairly new to exhaust.

The cherry bomb at pep boys is cheaper than a flowmaster.

If you do it yourself, yes. Take out your muffler, buy a piece of 2.5 exhaust tubing, take it to an exhuast shop, or someone that welds. Have them weld it in. Preferably an exhaust shop, so they can get an exact length measurement and what not. It's called a muffler delete. Emery did this on his.

From what the guys say, you'll see more of a result replacing the Y pipe. I'm just not gonna have that done until I take leave in july. Exhaust work in Indiana is dirt cheap. Florida sucks.

my 06 eclipse cost me $450 with piping, R&D Muffler, High Flow cat, and 4'' tip

This one should be costing me about the same for replacing the y-pipes and the cat-back

I haven't been around here in a while, but there used to be a sound clip of my 06 on here I think. I left the first cat on mine and ran a Flowmaster Delta Flow 50 on it, then dumped it in front of the rear axle. It's got a nice deep rumble at start-up and idle. When it takes off and at highway speeds it does resonate, but I like to hear it myself. Word of caution here, it will sound like a Pinto without a muffler for a few weeks until it acclimates itself and it does lose torque on the bottom end. Take off isn't that great, but you wouldn't notice anything different exept the sound after you're moving.

That's is like saying I want to buy an orange but I want it green. A V6 with either of those mufflers will sound ricey. And yes the V6 guys are going to get all defensive and say it doesn't, but yes it does. If you must do a blowmaster exhaust I'd put a 50 series on it.

IMO, Avoid the Flowmaster 40. I have one but it's going away.

There are others here that will tell you this. It's loud, and sounds good for a while (I've had it over a year). Actually sounds pretty good sometimes.

But the drone is annoying, its a little ricey, and the truck loses some low end.
