Default Sold my Dodge Ram and bought a Dodge Dakota

Okay, so last week I sold my 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 2WD and this week I bought a 2006 Dodge Dakota 4x4. I have had two other 4WD's in the past. One I had to hop out and lock hubs, one I could drop into 4WD in drive going down the dirt road. I am wondering how it is properly done on a 2006 Dakota? I know I don't lock the hubs. Do I leave it in drive or put it in Neutral? I bought a used one and don't have a manual. Is there an online Manual somewhere?

Shift on the fly for hi range. Under 40mph I think. For low range, I think you need to be in neutral or park (stopped obviously) for the transfer case to shift.

I did the same thing awhile back, '02 Ram for an '06 Dakota. Good swap, I like my Dak a lot. I do miss the room though, oh well.

The SOTF is great. If I had to do it over again I would had ordered the AWD with the SOTF hi box. They didn't have it available at the time. The surefootedness of AWD is awesome. I’m thinking about loosing the Dak in 2010 for something else in the truck world. I love the truck but sorry to say I just don't trust it for the long haul.
