The 305/50-20 may work. It is 32" in diameter. The 305/55-20 will not work. I know the problem with my 285/70-17 (32.7" dia.) with the stock offset is they rub the frame at full lock, but if I change my offset I will have to do a bit of trimming on the bumper and wheel wells. Do they make a 285/55-20 tire that would work for you? It would be 32.3" dia. and the 3/4 of an inch difference in width not really noticable. But with the 305/50-20 you might get away with it with your offset. It may give you that little bit of extra room for your frame and still not rub that bad on your bumper and wheel well because of the smaller diameter. What is the person in the blue Dak running for tire size?

thanks a lot! so what would the difference between the 305/50/20 and the 285/55/20 be? 3/4th? do you think either or those would work good for me? or do you think that the 285/55 would work better?

what tire size would be the same exact size as 285/55/20 with 18's or 305/50/20? like if i wanted the same size tire just an 18" rim, what would be best for that? i guess it'd be easiest if i went with a 16 or 17 like everyone else haha but i want the 18 or 20

i just want whatever size will be the biggest i could go without rubbing, i don't want no funky lookin gaps with the lift haha

this is what the blue dak has...

285/75R16 Pro-Comp X-Terrains (33's)
16x8 Dick Cepek DC-1 Wheels
2" Coil Spacer
3" Body Lift

I found him on cardomain, here's the link...

thx again!

The 285/65-18 would work. It is 32.5" dia. As far as the 285 over the 305, I just have never seen anyone run a 305 wide tire on our body style. That's not to say it can't be done, though. That blue truck is running the same lift I am, except I also put in 2" blocks in the rear as well.

Okay sweet, thanks for the help

Yea I was thinkin of puttin some blocks in the back, isn't that the rear add-a-leaf kit or whatever?

Could you tell me what size 33 x 12.5/20's are? because the biggest size rim on a lifted dak that I've seen was the 20's and the tires are huge...they are 33 x 12.5 but i have no idea what that is...like i wish it were written out the way mine is (265/60/18) do you know what that converts out to be...the 33 x 12.5/20

The 12.5 refers to the width. The 285's are 285mm wide, the 305's are 305mm wide and the 12.5's I believe are 318mm wide. So your 33x12.5's would be 318/?/20 in the metric tire size. Did you see these on our generation dakota? I couldn't imagine running those without some serious trimming.

yup on a 2006 trx, its got the exact look i'm going for, i found this truck and was just in shock with it at how awesome it is and i want my truck to look just like it.

here's his page
http://www.cardomain.com/ride/3343062

he's got 3" body lift
2.5" auto springs leveling kit
then he's got the 3" rear add-a-leaf too (i think)

he still has rubbing, and said he had to cut away parts of the inner fender, fender flares, and bumper...

but it looks GREAT!

i want those exact rims, but i don't want the mud tires because i want an all season tire

i don't want any rubbing tho and i don't wanna have to trim anything i'm just looking for the biggest perfect-fit tire without having to trim and no rubbing, i will most likely do the 18's and go with the 285/65/18, i wish i could see a dak with it first but like i said i've seen 16's and 17's, and then one 20 that's it, no 18's

that truck is just amazing, i would love for mine to look just like it, i wanted those rockstars then saw that truck and loved it!

That's a pretty sweet ride. You can see on image #5 of his pics that he has had to do some pretty serious trimming of his inner fender. I think the 285/65-18's would look pretty sweet too. Let's see a pic of your truck how it looks right now.

yea, I love it! I never noticed that trimming before! I would love if my truck looked like that! yea, I think 285/65/18 would be perfect, but I'm just worried about the rubbing..

here's the tires I have now, which are what came with my truck

i'm kinda confused too about that when company's say just **mm instead of -**mm

Im thinking all of them are -**mm, they just dont put the -. Because i dont think you would want a wheel thats farther inward than the stockers, especially for wheelin.

yea, I know. I think that would look stupid having tires inward.

For the Rockstars I want there is 0mm for the 18's then for like the 20's it has -24 for the size I need. Then it's got other random offsets like +1 or -2.
