K&N and 4.7 HO
#12
So, I just got home, 10:15 PM and I was unable to do the disconnect and key trick. Has anyone else done this to a level where I won't be saying: "Sheesh, what's the worse that can happen...?"
I might be doing this tomorrow evening before going on a long road trip. I would like to see if this will affect my mpg as well as I think it may have dropped a bit, since installing the K&N.
See you all in the AM!

Hey...
I've got a 4.7 HO with a K&N intake kit and everythin' is still fine. No power loss or extra fuel consumption. However, you'll notice the extra "grumble" with the absense of the intake baffle (you may also notice a "hiss" like a vent closing when decellerating at 45 MPH ... but I digress).
If it's that noticable have a look at the IAT (intake air temperature) sensor that you relocated with the extension provided in the kit.
1) yes it's stupid but make sure all your connections are good
2) make sure that the cable "splice" is good (ohm it out)
3) clean off your sensor with electronics cleaner
Hopefully this helps.
