I replaced my 40 series with an Aero Turbine 3030. It sounds 100X better.

Well, sound isn't everything. If it was, I would have kept it stock. I'm looking more towards getting my mpg improved a bit. I think sound will be determined by the exhaust pipe diameter. I've heard everything from 2" to 3".

This entire process has me so confused, I'm almost ready to trade my truck on a KIA...

NOT! But I am still a bit confused by the whole thing....

I looked it up on their website. Construction looks better than Magnaflow's stuff. I have I actually heard either? I'm not really sure.

All I want is to get the air and exhaust moving from the front to the rear in the fastest and eastiest way. And hey, if it sounds close to stock, that's okay.

I have it going in pretty good, with the K&N, but there seems to be a hold up on the followthrough....

Magnaflow is much better quality IMO and they will flow better (and that part isn't just my opinion). Flowmaster's flow like crap, rather amusing considering the name. I run a Cherry Bomb Vortex myself, it's nearly straight through, much less restriction and higher flow plus it sounds great (and not like every other modded truck around here that ALL have flows).

my favorite thing about flowmasters, is my buddy has had a 98 dakota 3.9L and a 2005 4.7L, both had the super 44... the 6er sounded like a 6er, and the v8, sounds like his v6 did...

YAY FOR SOUNDING DOWNGRADED!!!

I love Borla. No droning, smooth at idle and roars like a lion under duress.
