I have a 2005 Dakota QC 4X4 Laramie AWD.....just turned 50,000 miles but am having a humming noise coming from the front end. It gets louder/softer when I speed up/slow down. Trunk is/has been in great standing (oil always changed, tires rotated and balanced). I just put new tires on her 245/65/R17 (originals 265/65/R17) radials about 5000 miles ago and it has had a humming noise....(might have been there before I changed tires but just didn't pay attention enough) A guy at a tire shop said it sounds like the bearings are going out....Any help??

Without hearing it, humming noises can be sooooooooooo many things.
it increases in volume as you increase in speed... something could be rubbing, but a bearing would seem to be a good guess. How is your tire wear? even across the tires or are the insides/outsides wearing more?
I am sure this is a silly question, but does it sound like it could possibly be an electrical feedback? Some vehicles have feedback come in through the speakers or even from relays in the fuse box. It is more of a squeal than a hum really...
