Imagine dropping in a Sharadon 392 or bigger Hemi, lol.
Imagine this 6.4L Hemi in a G3 Dakota, check out the vids at the bottom.

Good job I've just put a 5.7 litre Hemi in my 2001 Dakota Quad Cab Thread is called "Dakota Hemi Swap"with pix..Check it out>>.The Hemi looks like it should have came in the truck, but I still have the wiring "Computer swaps"to do. I also swapped the 545 5 spd, Trans, from the hemi. How did you go about doing your wiring? did you change the whole harness, with computers? or splice the two together? This will be my final step..I can't wait..

put an SRT Max cam in it with a 6 speed behind it and make it sound like this, and I am in.

Man if I knew that I could get everything to work eventually, I would be butter, and starting to find a 5.7 TODAY!

There are several 4.7L dakota/durango owners to swap in a Hemi. It can be done but it takes time and you have to ensure you get the best generation Hemi to work with your electrical system. There are even SRT8 6.1L transplant threads out there.

Aww crap, this has been on my mind all day.

Just out of curiosity, will the 6 speed behind the 4.7 bolt up to the hemi, I thought that they had the same small block bolt pattern.

Now for that matter, how much torque can the 6 speed stand up to?
I mean if I was am going to take the time to do this, I am gonna build it right, that means that if a 6.1 will fit I might have to go with a 6.1l with a 426 stroker kit, and the SRT Max cam. have to verify that they stroker does not come with domed pistons, or there wont be enough valve clearance to run the max cam.

Of course with all that power, I have to be able to bring the truck off the ground a little farther, so I guess that I would have to plan on doing the solid axle swap that was brought up on here a while ago.

Good grief this is gonna get expensive fast, but hey

Fast+Reliable=Ain't gonna be cheap!

Yes it's the same pattern. The 545-rfe will directly bolt to the Hemi also. It just takes a different torque converter.

Nope, it never is.
