Update, just baked the old stock headlight for practice, and found out that silver edge on our headlights cannot be accessed. To paint it I have to paint over the outside lens, like Blown did. So I am just going to have to sand it and paint the outside after taping it off, I didn't want to do that because headlights get hit with a lot of bugs. However, it gives me the opportunity to make a design if I so choose, Dodge Charger angry eyes?

As you can see that outer silver edge is its own piece of plastic that cannot be separated.

Yes that's what I ended up doing instead of melting it down I just sanded the edges and painted the top of the lenses.
