Hey guys, my tires are bald as hell and in the process of looking for some cheaper MT's I came across TreadWright.com. It's a tire re-treading company that gives a 24k // 2 year warranty on their tires. There 265/75R16's start as low as $78. Has anyone used them, or heard of them before?

 

You mean 265 series?

Retreading is a standard in commercial and super-oversize tires...like mine trucks, excavators. I'm sure a quality automotive retread would be fine. But at $78, plus shipping, you're pretty close to a pair of off-brand AT or MT tires. I got my National Commandos, which have been a solid and nice looking tire, for $120 each installed.

 

Yea, bro, it was a typo. I fixed it. They seem to have their **** together honestly. They also have some extra crap for $9 for even better grip.

 

I would think by 10K miles, problems would start to become evident. A 24K warranty is pretty solid. Does it still make sense $$ wise with shipping?

What is the KG or Kedge Grip?
Kedge Grip is a traction additive that we blend into the rubber compound. Kedge Grip consists of a crushed walnut shell and crushed glass particle that works in a two fold manner. As the tire wears down the walnut shell is designed to displace from the rubber leaving a small (1mm) pit or void that provides and additional traction edge. The crushed glass is designed to stay in place longer providing additional grit and grip on the surface of the tread.

 

I don't know!! I would not feel safe driving on re-treads!!!
