Default My New `05 Dakota CC 4.7l v8 Pictures.

03-29.05

Bought my `05 DD CC on Saturday added the O.E.M. Window shadevents and Bug Deflector today, it was very easy to do but maybe having done a dozen before helps.

I bought a Flowmaster 40 Delta Flow, 2.5" Single in center and Dual 2.25" outs SKU# 9425422 today also. purchased it from Delray Beach House of Mufflers 1-800-276-6399 for $54.00 (Great Price) Overnight shipping was like $9 total $63.00. LOL thats still $20.00 cheaper then the ones they wanted here in my town. I've decided to have the exhaust run out the back, should look nice and sound good to.

I'm having the exhaust installed on Thursday so i'll take after pictures and post those as well if anyone cares for looking at them.

Anyone need a Muffler / Like New with 55 miles on it from a `05 Dakota v8 4.7l? Maybe i'll put it up on eBay and sell it.

Great Board and nice people here, looks like my new home. [sm=smokin.gif]

(Pictures to come i forgot to upload them)

Hi all. [sm=smiley20.gif]

Got my FlowMaster Exhaust installed today along with 6" Black Chrome Tips. It looks and sounds pretty sweet.
Can't hardly wait for the truck to be broken in so i can she how she really responds to the gas pedal.

Question,...
Theres a Tow/Haul Button on the shifter is this pretty much like the Overdrive button you see on many cars? When i push it doing about 45mph it feels like it lowering gears so that is my guess. Whats your idea?

Hi,
I purchased a 2005 Quad Cab and was thinking of doing the dual exhaust like you did. Looks and sounds great. Like those tips. Did the duals affect performance, mileage etc? Would you happen to have pictures of underneath the truck? I would like to see the entire exhuast system you installed. Very interested in doing this. Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated. I am waiting for Bully nerf bars to be relaeased for the 2005.
My son and I race and restore Toyota MR2's so we do occasionally tow a trailer. The tow/haul button holds it from going into overdrive so it doesn't put a strain on the transmission but I think it will shift into overdirve but only at a higher rate of speed. In any event the truck really pulls and tows well. Love it. Thanks [sm=thanx.gif]

hey dennis,
do you know how much weight you are towing? how long is the trailer you are using? i am considering getting a new truck and like the midsize dak but we will be towing 5200 to 5500 lbs. alum trailer and two horses. the biggest problem is that in some spots we start from a stop and go right uphill wich will put a strain on the truck. we don't go too far now, but with a better truck we may be tempted.
thanks, rob

Hi Rob,
Sorry for jacking this thread. Anyway the trailer weighs 1200 lbs. and the car around 3000 lbs, these are approx. but are real close. The length of the trailer is 16 foot dual axle. We drove to Syracuse New York, 250 miles with an empty trailer, picked up a car and towed it 250 miles up and down hills with no problem. Fully loaded (4300 lbs) was running 75 mph up and down hills. It would down shift occasionally going up hills and would lose 5 - 8 mph on average. Outside temperature was 55 degrees and the engine never moved from normal operating temperature. Gas mileage was 14 mpg round trip. Having said all this the truck only had 300 miles on it. I was concerned towing with this low of mileage but the truck now has 7900 miles on it and running strong. I hope this helps. If you have any other questions email me. djrothmel@comcast.net [sm=gears.gif]

Hey 2005 Dakota CC 4.7l Sweet tips I think I'll do that later this Summer!!!!
I just picked up my Quad this past monday I got the K&N Air fillter and love that added noise & So called fuel economy, the two front windows are getting tinted next week to match the rest.I can't belive the amout of Sack these trucks have I friggin love it!!!

I would love to do what you have done.BTW The Tow button is in you're owner's manual it's in reguards to towing up/down hills, when you're trani constantly changes gears from over working push that button & It takes you're trani out of overdrive & you're truck will be running in different gear grouping 1-2 3-4.Check it out if you're gonna tow.
