Which version of the Rancho are you talking about? The 9000 series or the 5000 series?

Two weeks ago, I put on the Rancho RS5757 on the front and the RS5315 on the rear. Holy crap, what a difference from stock!!! I wish I had done it before! I found the info at rockauto.com ($297 for all 4) and price matched them at Checker/Oreilly here in Colorado Springs.

If you go to rockauto.com, you won't find the RS5757 listed under the 2006 Dakota (for me). But, if you search rockauto.com, you can find the shock there. I confirmed with Monroe/Rancho that the RS5757 was the correct front shock before getting them.

Ahhh...tracking. You want to know the difference between the RS5000 series and the RS9000 series. The 9000 series is much more of an off-road shock than the 5000 series.

The rancho 5000's will be plenty for off-road use. The rest of the truck's front suspension will fall apart before those shocks do, lol. *Just my 2 cents*

My RS5000 series shocks may not go "baja-ing", but on the dirt, gravel, washboarded roads of Colorado, they do great.
