Performance Upgrades
Ok im am new to the forum but i have looking at alot of the info on here. I am interested in the cam swap everyone talks about. Are those OEM HO cams or are the from somewere else?? Also the exhaust is a must i am thinking flowmaster i go a quote from a guy in NC for 379 for the 50 series and a 2.5 pipe from the catback back to the muffler and dual pipes and tips. programmer im uncertain is it the Hypertech or the Superchips? Also the air intake ?? Any help would be appreicated.I just want this truck to perform like it should , but it feels like a dog right now.

the gears are really what make it feel like a dog. i am betting you have 3.55s.
the ho cam is a mopar part. some say they are the same as the ho cams in ho trucks. others say they are a hotter cam that is a mopar upgrade. believe it to be the first...

Some say you can look at the sticker inside your glove box, but I did not have one.
One really neat thing is to get the factory build from Chrysler. Try emailing
customerassist@chrysler.com with you VIN number, they got back to me with a complete list of options the truck came with. But like Eric said, there is a good chance you will see this
3.55 Axle Ratio
Corporate 9.25 LD Rear Axle
Anti-Spin Differential Rear Axle
But remember, that doggish feeling in town equates to me cruising 70mph @ 1800rpm.
I am purchasing the Superchips 3865 in about 10 days. Others here also use the 3815, which is just the older model. The only difference that I know of is that the tuner itself is smaller on the 3865.

Welcome to DF and G3 Dakota section. Currently I'm tuning with SCT using a 9550 tuner.

As for air intake, before the blower I was using a home brew ram air system with Air Aid filter.
For Exhaust I use Borla, some recommend Magnaflow or Cherry Bomb. Flowmaster doesn't seem to do well with alot of Dakota guys. hear alot of lost torque from everyone all the way from 3.7 to 5.9 owners.
Your best bet for poweradders is a tuner, cams, peformance muffler/exhaust and a good CAI or FIPK. I would also consider a clutch fan delete in favor of an electric fan.
