Default Dakota won't turn over??

I just drove my Dakota home, shut it off, ran inside, and went back to go back out and the truck won't turn over.
Checked all the fuses at the dash fuse box, all good.
Seems like the normal cluster light are acting funny when I turn the key to the on. (might just be me)
Very faint clicking noise when I turn the key to start.

Also it's raining out side!

Check negative terminal make sure it's connected tight. Mine did the exact same thing and that's what I found.

Bad battery would be my next guess, or the starter is toast? Have some turn the key and while they are turning the key take a hammer and tap the side of the starter, if it begins to turn its most likely the starter is going.

just re did the battery terminals, and the ground on the inside of the fender.
I can't even test the battery, because all my electrical tools are in my service truck. which I don't have today!
I'm thinking more to the bad battery, because my keyless door locks won't work either.
Interior lights are on though, maybe a little dim.

I just installed a new battery, and it started right up.
If it was the Altinator how long will it take for the battery to go dead? The truck seems to be running rough now. Maybe the Altinator surging????
