Default Newly installed fog lights not working in a 07 Dakota ST

Hi there guys,

I'm a long time reader but i don't post that often... But I do have a problem I can't seem to figure out. I just got a new bumper on my truck so it could be painted and so I could have fog lights. I plugged them into the harness that were just sitting there right by the holes and I replaced the switch in the cab with one for fog lights. But I got nothing, they won't turn on. I also checked the fuse and it's there. I was wondering if there is something else I need to do. Do I need to program the computer? Or is there something simple I can do. The fog light logo does not even show on the dash cluster. Also high beams or low beams does not make a difference. Hope somebody can help.

Thanks
Peter.

I know the fog light turn off when you have the highbeams on,
not sure why that dosen't work, might have to get the computer updated to turn them on in the system, now that you have them, thats all I can think of.

I am pretty sure you have to have the computer reprogrammed for it. Same as like the cruise control.

It might be cheaper to get a lighting relay for it then. Depends how much the stealer would charge for reprogramming. So much for being plug and play.

nice instructions. And I think this is your issue

Use a diagnostic STARSCAN tool so that the Front Control Module is
reconfigured and recognizes the front fog lamps

There is a relay in the electrical center under the hood. See if it is there in its marked spot.
