Default Superchip Mileage Tune

Well guys I switched over to the mileage tune after being on the towing tune for so long, just to try it out. One thing I will say is that it is better than stock on a few aspects, but not the other tunes. The acceleration is a tad sluggish compared to the other tunes, possible slight betterment than stock. The shifting is still better. The mileage def soars over the others. I am avg 20 right now with a good 50/50% driving environment. I will continue to drive it with a definite change to city driving, nearing 80-90% of the commutes. Ill keep everyone updated on what the mileage does. As of right now I see it staying consistent and solid with no change.

Good news! Thanks for the info, I haven't tried the mileage tune yet because I read a couple others complaining about that tune. I may have to give it a shot. I am still stuck on the 91 tune.

I have tried them all. Right now I'm on the 91 octane tune. I just like the feeling, power and handling (throttle response) if it the best.

Bolt, did you drive like an old lady to get that? Not that it's possible with a 3k shift point. I tried it for a month with no mileage improvement over stock.

Nope "normal" driving, easy on and easy off the throttle and hardly any braking if possible. I dont have the 1-2, 3k rpm shift problem like a few of you guys talk about(ie. - https://dodgeforum.com/forum/3rd-gen...uestion-2.html). Mine shifts around 2200. I am not sure if I am lucky or what...

Yeah thats the best I have pulled on highway just chugging along, but any time you begin to pull a good hill, or someone tries to pass that you dont want to pass you, it dips good, like 3 mpgs lol Its very fun to drive though! As far as being a solid mpg regardless of the issue in mixed driving, I am would pick this tune over the 91 even though its no fun

my best so far is 24 on the highway, 65 mph with the the cruise on, i dont have the superchips anymore, but the sct tuning. marty from krc performance set me up with 3 nice tunes. one for everyday driving which is great, one for friday night illegal drag racing. and the other is the nitrous tune, which all i can say is wow. right now i am running the everyday tune, which is fine for me

Does the superchips 87 octane tune add any horsepower or is that basically the fuel efficient tune? I was thinking of picking one up in the future but as the dak is my daily driver I really don't want to change from 87 octane but would like some extra power.

If I recall, all the 87 octane tune does is adjust shift points, and adjust torque and horsepower curve, doesn't really add any power.

the 87 octane changes the shift points/firmness. the x milage can also run on 87 octane and is a less aggressive tune. only tune you need to run 91 is the 91 tune (can also run 93 if that is all there is in your area) soo 91 tune can run 91 adn 93, all the others can run 87 or higher.
