That's the Jeep Lower 40 concept. It's been around for a while, but made it to SEMA this year. And yes, it does have a Hemi. Also the Getrag 6 speed that our trucks use. It has a stock suspension, and alot of body work to accomodate 40" tires. I think the huge chromey wheels make it cartoonish...but the powertrain combination is interesting. It sounds like a Hemi might be a bolt-up to our manual transmissions.

The SRT10 Rams used Tremec's, 6060's I believe, like the Viper and Corvette. Much more car-like gearing, not really useful for a Jeep with 40" tires.

**Edit**The Ram used the 6060's predessor, the T56.

the new viper uses the getrag transmission, and I'm like 95% the set-10 ram does too.

Vipers and SRT Rams use Tremecs. 1500 Rams and Dakotas used to use NV3500's, and were replaced with Getrag 238's for the 2005 model year.

Old 3/4 and 1 ton W/D Rams used Getrags, and were known to fail due to drivers resting their arm on the shifter, wearing out the selector mechanism. They then switched to New Venture 4500's and 5600's, and now use a Mercedes 6 speed that is found in much larger trucks.

The Tremec is a sport transmission, geared to allow engines with alot of torque to get a car moving insanely fast. Not grunting around with a trailer or off road. It has a tall 1st and two overdrive gears. The T56 was the basis for the modern 6060, and is found in every high end version of the big 3's sports cars. Shelby Mustang, Corvette, Camaro, Challenger, CTS-V, Pontiac G8, Viper and Ram SRT-10.

The Vipe has used Tremecs since day one.
