I got the Rancho's from streetsideauto.c0m, the best price I could find at the time. Had to order for 2005 model on the site, same part #'s for my 06. It was just under $300 for front & rears. What a difference!!

Part #'s - FYI:
Front - RS5757
Rear - RS5315

I may just take a risk and buy the kyb shocks they are a fraction of the price but wanted to see if anyone had experience with them yet, I'm guessing anything but stock would make a world of difference...

Replaced my stock rears with Monroe Reflex. Can't say I notice much difference; street driving only.

I can't speak to the KYB's for the Dakota but I've run KYB's on Subaru's, '04 Durango, Hyundai's, a Dodge Caravan, an 83 C-10, an 85 F150 and etc. I find that at first they feel great but tend to wear out faster than the OEM's.

So if the OEM's wear out in 40,000 miles the KYB's wore out in 30,000 miles or less.

Oh, and the KYB's never felt that much firmer than stock. Maybe just a hair better.

Yeah, with that bounce I really didn't feel safe. I felt like I did not have total control of the truck sometimes. With the new shocks, the truck feels sooooo much better. The Monroes are cheaper, but some who got them wish they had gotten the Rancho's. But anything is better than stock!
