Default more crazy blinker behavior

With my blinker on, it will sometimes make the 'tick' noise that alerts you a turn signal is on, other times it will not. At first I thought that it would tick for 5 seconds or so and then turn off to not annoy the driver, but now I can't find any rhyme or reason to why or when it ticks.

Anyone else have something similar? Does yours tick all the time or none?

Bain, sorry I have no idea, My stereo is normally too loud to hear the directional. It doesn't sound normal though. hopefully someone here will chime in with a better answer.

You might check the blinker relay ( wherever that is) it might be loose or you might need a new one, if the ticking stops all together, I would just leave it, I'm not a fan of that sound anyways. (wish I could turn it off)

Yes my mechanic already flushed and replaced my blinker fluid, but I did not ask for the synthetic perhaps that is the problem. I paid a little extra and he let the summer air out of my tires and replaced it with fresh winter air, i couldn't feel the difference but my tires shouldlast longer now.

I will swap that relay with another similar one and see if that helps. Thanks. Too bad it is negative 8 degrees F here in Illinois or I would check right now.

That always puts a damper on working on the truck, I miss being able to take over my parents heated garage back in Maine, luckily Jersey isn't quite as cold.
