I once got beat by an old lady in a rusty early 90s Buick in my 05 Dakota. I floored it off the line and she passed right by me. Didn't even look like she was pushing it. I've only had one person try to race me in my 08. It was right after I lifted it, so I didn't run (was still afraid something would fall off ).

I think they have real potential, like for example that AirRam guy, he has one in a full size 4 door ram that runs low 9s in the 8th mile. And you know our Daks are lighter by far.
I didn't intend to start any arguments haha

This here is straight off the AirRam website, just to back up what I said haha

We have run our best times to date thanks to the latest SCT programmer! This custom programmer has brought us from our previous best 9.99 down to a 9.49 in the 1/8th!... take a look at our times... make note of the 14.99@89.29MPH!!

60' ....... 2.24 (BEST 60ft was with H/O cams 1.99 60')
330 ...... 6.09
1/8 ...... 9.49@71.83
1000 ..... 12.42
1/4 ....... 14.99@89.29

This is Single Cab HEMI territory! Not bad for a little 287ci in a 5200lb truck! Look for the SCT programmer right here on our site!
14.99@89 is about 1 second and 10 mph slower than an LT1 F-body. The Trans Am wasn't racing. Probably a V6.

A poorly driven LS1 F-body (the 2K Z28 you mentioned) is a mid/high 13 second car. There are plenty of low 13 second stock LS1 F-bodies out there. What are you mods?

I know a handfull of Richie's (scjeep4.7HO) mods. He's a moderator on Bionic Dodge and has helped me greatly throughout my build, especially with trouble shooting.

Anyway here is some of his mods.
Forged pistons
Forged Crank
Aluminum air intake
Paxton Novi 2000 pulling down 25psi
SCT tuning
212 cams
2700 stall
Anyway here is a pic of his powerplant.

only problem i am having while playing out on the street is those damn subaru wrx things. i hang thru the first 3 gears than the dam turbos kick in, than forget it. i think if we were at the track with the drag radial, it would be real close.
I have one of those "damn WRX things". With your times, you should be able to beat a stock 2008 or earlier WRX without too much trouble. 2009+ models are a different story. The current bone stock record is 12.9@104, but most decent drivers are getting mid/low 13s at 101mph or so. You can probably hang with a stock 2009+ if they don't do a full blown clutch dump launch.

However, they're aren't many stock WRXs around. It seems like people starting modding them as soon as they get home from the dealer. My 2009 has about 3,300 miles on it and I've already done a few things. I'm running stage II right now -much, much faster than stock. I haven't been to the track yet, but I've owned plenty of other reasonably fast cars(13.0 or quicker, including a 2004 Z06) that I've taken to the track and I'd put money on my WRX breaking into the 12s.

As far as kills with my Dakota. None. This is one of the slowest vehicles I've owned in a long time. I took it to the track a couple of years ago. My brother drove his 2006 Toyota Sienna minivan. Let's just say it didn't end well for the Dak. He smoked me.

Nice. I was guessing he was running some sort of forced induction. Seems perfectly reasonable that he beat an LS1 F-body.

Yes Sir. Richie's Jeep is a beast.

Have you thrown up any vids of your GTO in the other sections? The Goats are definately one of my favorite cars. I just watched some vids of a twin turbo GTO taking down a Ninja and a Hayabusa. Sick.

Only time I've "raced" was when I first got the truck. Wife was in her '09 4-cyl Hyundai Sonata and we were getting on the highway and she got on it and all I could do was stay with her up to the 75 mph speed limit. I could not catch her. If I had, had the '04 Hemi Durango I traded in for the Dakota it would have been no contest.

WINNER!

While you may have 300 at the crank, take away 30% for safe numbers, you're looking at 210 at the wheels, and 4700 pounds... putting you at about 22 pounds per whp

Lets use the mustang for comparisons...

Now, this mustang may have 250 horsepower, and lets take away 25% for safe numbers, you're looking at 185 at the wheels. BUT the Stang MAY weigh tops 3200 pounds... which is 17 pounds per whp.

Good luck honestly telling me you beat any of these cars...
