Exclamation Auto Recall & TSB Titles / 06 Dodge Dakota 2WD V8-4.7L VIN J

Now that I'm going to be an Owner, I've started researching.

Anything you guys have dealt with on this list?

I plan on taking it to a local 5-star dealer to have it checked for all Recalls & TSB's right after I pick it up...

Actually, I think I can call the stealership & have them run the VIN to see what on this list has been done...

Not all of them will be for your truck, but its not a bad idea to go to the dealer and have em do a search. Tt would def pull up the neccessary ones.

Does your vin have a J in it?

Your 11k truck just turned into a gold mine. That's the 4.7 HO man. I didn't put 2 and 2 together when you said you bought an R/T.

2 things to get checked, an this is a very important one. the pawl cup plug for the trany needs to be replaced if not already, serious tranny issues will accur if the plug falls out, some trucks never had the bracket installed to support the plug, if it falls out, it will jam the shift lever in place an you will not be able to get out of park or even put it in park, reverse, drive. also the frt popping noise is the frt suspension, the ball joints are terrible an kee breaking free, have them switched out as soon as you get the truck.

Yes, Yes it is...
Question? Other than the engine & some interior detailing, what make the R/T an R/T. I can't see any other differences between it & another 2WD Quad Cab w/ the same engine...

OK, the bracket you're referring to, is it visible externally? Do do I need to have it checked by a Tranny Shop (OK guys, leave the Tranny jokes out of this one)

The Liberty has similar Lower Ball Joint issues. So bad that Chrysler issued a recall for free lifetime replacement.

THANKS

Yes, yes it does... LOL

And I've already started thinking about how to make it a functional scoop. Since it appears to just be a stick on, I may opt for one of those ram air hoods I saw elsewhere on this forum...

I just stopped at the local dealership. Had the service guy run my VIN.

No Recalls. No Service bulletins!

Life is good!

Stick on hood scoops aren't so cool. The RT hood scoop from the dealer is $600. This one looks cool:
