Default Torque Management

Just curious if anyone has had trouble doing a burnout or launching off the line (engine tries to throttle down like it wants to die). A problem I've been battling getting 1/4 mile trap times of 109 with low 13's. I just got a new tune from Hemifever as he has found a way to program around the torque management. SCT is working to program it out completely so this spring's track runs will certainly be interesting.

Yes, I've found I sometimes launch faster when I'm not trying than when I actually give her some, the torque management on these things is criminal!

Blown, I think if they can get the tuning to "turn off" the torque management, you may need to make some revisions...haha.

Locker?
Suspension?

Thank God, the Talon is OBD1 (no such thing as torque management) but then again, it's a 5 speed manual.

I noticed a few things after significant changes in tuning:
Had to changed compression and rebound on the suspension
Changed the two-step from 4200 to 3900 (happy medium between 25psi and 5hg in vacuum)

I would love to see how your 60' times would change!

SC posted a response in their forum saying that you can't eliminate the torque management. You can change the way it responds but it still needed to be there.

When I launch I get mad, excessive wheel spin if I'm not running my slicks. When this happens, the torque management programming kicks in and the engine automatically drops RPMs until tracton catches again. It sucks, I'm going to try my new tunes this weekend and see how big of a difference it makes.

I cant burn rubber unless the pavement is wet. I've tried power braking then letting go of the brake slightly, nothing but a little chirp. And this is with stock tires.

I can't really get any wheel spin from a dead stop with mine, even after the superchips programmer, but the funny thing it does now is after I get about half way through first gear, thats when it breaks the tires loose.

I was always able to power brake and do a burn out like that though, not that I make a habit of that, but I did try it once.
