Im just wondering what it would take to switch my v6 to the v8. does the trans bolt up, motor mounts the same? will i need stiffer struts, i know ill have alot of wiring. thanks

 

I have never researched it, but if you go to a 4.7L make sure its an 08 or newer. If you are going to go with a major swap, I would look into a Hemi swap.

 

the motor mounts are not the same and it would be a lot of work. the 4.7 have the 5 speed trans vs the 3.7 having the 4 speed, not sure about the motors switching trans's
I was looking into doing this down the road but it looks like it would be a lot of work to stick it into the truck you have,
a better option might be and I haven't looked into this to much, but find a good frame from a 4.7 setup, (mabye a wrecked body but the frame is good) and put your body onto the frame with the setup good to go, this would be easier but still a lot of work.

if you do go after this let me know how it goes as I also want to do this.
