Default Exhaust

Ok guys... Let's talk about exhaust.

What have some of you done to your trucks with exhaust?

I have had other trucks with dual pipes run from the cat back. They were loud. Been there... Done that...

Now I am thinking of changing my exhaust on the Dakota but I don't want duals. But I would like that low, mellow tone and I think the 4.7 will deliver it nicely.

Any suggestions?

Exactly the same reasoning I went with the setup I have. I deleted the stock muffler and rear resonator (my truck only had a rear resonator, where as some of the older ones had two). I had 3 inch pipe installed from the Y back, with a SI/SO Chery Bomb Pro Exhaust. I had the exit in about the same spot as stock except it was closer to the body. Oh yeah and I topped it off with a4 inch tip. Here take a look!

I like that set-up you have there!

I was thinking that I might exit in front of the back wheel.
Anyone else tried that?

Yep! Just recently. I ditched the muffler and rear resonator, well, the whole setup from there on. Added a cherry bomb turbo muffler much like lightning's, a 90 degree turn from auto zone and a split older camaro tip. Still no pics, but I like it. BTW, I'm runnin' a 3.7 V6. It came out right in of the rear fender.
