I did change the octane I fill up with to 93. There is 91 octane available at some gas stations, but the one I go to has 87, 89, or 93. So I run the 91 performance tune with 93 octane.
For the top speed of 140, I will never ever go that fast in my truck being its mostly stock and probably wouldnt ever come close to reaching that speed. Even if it did, no need to change the bezel. You will just bury the needle past 120 and you wont know how fast you are actually going. I only upped the top speed to 140 because it was the max the programmer would let me, and I figured there was no sense in having it on there.
It is stated by superchips that their programmer performs best with a CAI and a free-flowing exhuast, although they are not necessary.
If you want more performance, you would want to run the 91 octane tune and think about the CAI and exhaust.
If you are only looking for better shifting and fuel economy, you could go with the 87 octane tune or mileage xs tune.
All the tunes come and stay on the programmer, so you can also change at any time. I probably wont ever take mine of the 91 tune because I enjoy the added performance and I dont worry about fuel economy.

I seriously doubt the truck (mostly stock) would even go 140 mph... Just saying...

It recommends 91 octane or higher for the Towing Tune and the 91 Tune. Like rengnath stated, Superchips explains that for best results, a CAI and an exhaust should be installed, but its not a necessity

If you are going to run the Mileage Tune or the 87 Tune, normal 87 octane is sufficient, but it kinda isnt as fun as the Tow or the 91.

Not a problem Raptor7. I never mind giving my input on something when I can. I was asking the same questions last week before I decided to purchase my tuner.

When I reach 140 in my Dakota, Lghtngblt02, Ill let you know. I might be better off getting out and pushing though instead of using the gas pedal ....

Lghtngblt02, have you tried out the towing tune for normal driving? I read in a couple places that people thought it had more performance than the 91 tune when just doing normal driving with no load.

Reminds me of using the tow/haul button for racing... gives you better shifts, dunno about the tuner though.

I only use the tow/haul button now when I want to get ready to floor it while going from a constant speed. I notice no differance at WOT with the tow/haul button.

It supposedly holds onto first gear longer.

I am very curious how fast stock will go. With 3.55 gears and the auto 545 tranny I run 74 mph at 1900 rpms. It doesn't even want to shift to 5th until you are at like 68 mph and letting off the go pedal. I think it would go pretty far! I know some of you have tested this, what will the 4.7 do stock? How fast guys?

10 years ago I would've tested the limits, but now i think about how much I would lose if I got caught going 80 miles over the speed limit. Heck my 93 toyota pickup, 2.4l 4 banger went 125+ with only CAI, shorty header and a custom exhaust pipe. That was the only other vehicle I've owned, had it for nearly 10 years until I got the Dak.
