I've had the 265/70/17 on my truck and they were catching the little front mud flap when turning, I think it just needed to be sucked back more and I wouldn't have any issues with that. not sure about putting screws or somthing in them to do this though.
I think they where clear of the frame, but then I didn't have a second person to hold the steering wheel while I stuck my hand around the back of the tire to check the clearance.
My next set of tires will be 265/70/17 only time will tell.

i know this thread is a couple months old, but i was rotating my tires and noticed they are starting to dry rot and are starting to wear down. i run 245/70/17 right now, but my spare was a 265/75/16 that was an aggressive a/t tire, which is the same size as a 265/70/17. I put it on, and no rubbing even at full turn. I had about 1.5 to 2 inches between tire and frame rail, then just to make sure, i took the jack and put pressure under that one wheel to lift it and it still had clearance. I am fixing to get the Nitto terra grapplers for my new tires.
