Default Paint Issues

Anyone else having issues with the paint on the wheel wells? I know the salt around here does not help but this is ridiculous. The paint is bubbling on both sides, and now a huge chunk came off this weekend gonna try and temp glue it in place untill i figure out what I'm gonna do. Dodge says they will not cover it under the corrosion warranty because its just surface and not penetrated through. Anyone else have this issue? Does this look and sound like it should be covered (outer-body panel and I am under the 7 years)

Q. What corrosion warranty does my vehicle have?
A. Corrosion warranty covers any outer-body metal panel that gets holes from rust or other corrosion. The warranty has time and distance limits as follows;
" For sheet metal panels, the limit is 2 years with unlimited distance.
" For an outer-body sheet metal panel, one that is finished-painted and that can be seen when walking around the vehicle, the time limit is 7 years with unlimited distance.
The warranty does not cover cosmetic or surface corrosion resulting for example from stone chips, scratches or bird lime in the paint.

Yea this is really happening, and its just getting worse. My only concern is how they are going to fix it if they do. I would like to keep this truck as long as i can. Since its rusting in between the pinch weld of the 2 bed parts they will have to completely remove the sides to do it correctly. I will be sending a email to the CEO and other top people at Dodge explaining how upset i am over this situation. I have also been told that Dodge visits these sites to review what customers are saying about there product. I will keep trying to get this fixed and will keep you updated on the status.

If anyone else has this issue or had this fixed already please speak up.

I also have major rust on the cross member in front the radiator.

Moneyman19 this would be the cross member that you have your lights inside the hood installed from what i can see. I will post pics soon

Yes i know what u are talking about, sadly the other day when changing my oil I notice a bubble on the left side of the bar between the two pieces that are going up.. tapped it and notice that rust is about to start. since its in this area i was thinking about getting sum sand paper and getting that rust protecting paint since no one is going to be under my hood unless i want them. maybe thats what u can do? rust is enemy number one and since our trucks have plastic in them i really wonder what the salt is doing to the plastic... we might all have a recall on that part...

The wife's durango is pretty bad around the front passenger wheel-well. l hope the Dak doesn't follow the same path once it reaches 10 years old. Scary that yours is doing that at 5.

You are dedicated. It's hard to justify washing it while there is still snow on the ground however I am sure your under carriage is happier for it.

I take mine to the dodge dealership like once a week and they give me a free car wash. They have a small Touchless system kinda like you could see at one of those coin spray wash places.

The last time I had some paint sprayed on a truck, I asked him how best to keep the paint looking like new. The first thing he said was to stay away from any automatic car wash, and secondly keep a good coat of wax on it.

I know you are rusting from underneath the paint, but just wanted to put that out there.
