Do you also have to remove the clutch saftey switch too? I know older cars (and I thought in new cars) the clutch needed to be depressed in order to start the car.

Default Yeah

Yeah I would have to but I thought maybe I could find a way to disable it only for the remote starter and not the ignition key. I haven't figured out a plan for that yet though.

You have 2 options:
Mopars remote start comes with an additional remote that goes on your key ring and you use the factory key fob to lock and unlock the truck. This will not work with a factory alarm system

or

You can get an aftermarket system like a viper or python with an alarm, 2-way communication, or just keyless entry with remote start and get a regular key cut for your truck. You can get blank keys off ebay for pretty cheap and take them to a local hardware store to get cut.

There are kits out there that claim they will use your factory remote and to start your truck you just hit the lock button twice or something like that, but I wouldnt trust something like that. Get a name brand that is trusted.

I wonder how much the key fob with the remote start costs .... if you look at mopar.com, the add-on remote start is a seperate little module with a little light on it. Thats why I was just planning on going aftermarket since I would have 2 modules. Instead, I got an exhaust system.
Do you have a security system too? Because for the add on option it says you cant have the factory alarm either.

That must be the two way remote start, this is just the one way.

Must be. Do you have a factory alarm system too? Because on mopar.com it says the remote start isnt compatible with the alarm system.
