I have an 06 Dakota 4x4, when I get the speed around 65-70 mph I start to get some shaking and I can't figure out what it is, I have recently replaced both outer tie rods and lower ball joints. It has a fresh alingnment. I'm not sure but it feels like it may be coming from the front passenger side area? Anyone have any idea what this might be? Possibly a bad shock?

 

I'm also went through the same thing. i thought it was the shocks as-well because i know mine are going but my mechanic replaces my brakes about 5 months ago and took it to him.. hes narrowed it down to my brakes. my rotors and calibers aren't doing well rotors are warped and calibers are sticking so for right now cant drive far. if u got the time check em out. if not maybe a shock? more should chime in

 

From what you said you already had done points to 100% wheel balance. Go to a good place mechanic shop and get all of them done. Even 2 oz. out of balance wont be felt until those speeds.

 

Mine was a sticking caliper. Rotor was glowing red. Check your rotors!!!!

Mine is shaking a bit too at those speeds. I just recently got the Cooper Zeon LTZ tires installed 265/70/17. Before the tires, exerything is smooth. After the tires, it began to shake. I have had an alignment performed, and the tires balanced FOUR TIMES by three different shops. The last one had a Hunter Road Force Balance machine. Each time, the tires were shown to be 1 to 2 ounces out of balance. It already has Ranchos, replaced tie rod ends, replaced sway bar links, new brakes, and two shops gave the front end a clean bill of health. I have also had the rear tsb performed. I am thinking there must be a bad tire. Time to call Tread Depot and and search for a resolution. This is getting expensive.

Ok, an update on mine. Looks like it is not Tread Depots fault. The Road Force Balance took care of about 90% of the shaking issue. The remaining 10% was fixed by replacing a bad tie-rod end. After deciding to to get off my butt, and get under my own truck I discovered the top of the boot had torn and the grease was replaced with grit. Just got done replacing and aligning. A 10 mile test drive at 65mph rode smooth and tight. I just love that four different shops missed that one.
