Default Egr

hey all hooked up my ob2 computer up to see how things were running and remember that it could help me to see if it something else doing that jerkiness i been talking about. well i went to view data and is showed EGR ERR % and it went to 99.2 and would stay that for awhile then drop to 0.0 check for codes no codes are being thrown. does ERR stand for error or something else? would the EGR be the code thats being thrown when my oil light pops on? but not showing a code? but my mechanic said its showig up as the oil switch sensor is going. any input?

My EGR was bad and throwing a code. I replaced it (a bitch) and code went away and my truck stopped stalling.

I have no idea, i don't have a scanner yet. My sensor on my EGR failed and like others have said "ITS A BITCH" to replace, but can be done with the right tools.

jeez im hoping its not my EGR then i guess i mean i dont mind doing it myself as long i read up on what to do but i was just wondering if anyone knew if that could cause my truck to starts to have a jerking feeling when flooring it. I dont notice it to much in first but deff in 2nd 3 its there but not as bad when 4th kicks in its fine... so I'm hoping its one of the calibers sticking then after certain speed it dosnt affect to much? or maybe a weak tranny bar or might just be from my shocks being bad?

Your PCM is signaling a certain angle (or percentage) of the valve to be open at any given time. If the PCM does not receive data indicating the valve is where it needs to be, it will flash an EGR ERR indicating the angle at wich the valve is not going.

Sounds like you might have to replace the valve.
