checked all the connections and fuses...everything was hooked up right. cut the power and ground wires from the fan and hooked them up directly to the battery and it kicked right on...it has to be the controller. I took the fan and controller out and put the clutch fan back in for now. going to try and contact spal and see what they say.
I doubt it. The Spal controller has held up to my demanding taurus fan with no problems so I wouldn't suspect your fan to have caused it. Could it be your temp sensor? If the unit is getting power I'd check that or make sure another one of your unused wires isn't grounding.
Got it halfway working...guy from spal told me how to disable the diagnostics on the spal controller. It cuts on with the ignition now so it is always on...better than not working at all. going to email him tomorrow and see if i can just reprogram the unit to factory settings.
