Default Magnaflow 16621 Install

I am new to the forums and will most likely be residing here in 3rd Gen...

I have a 05 QC Dak SLT V8 that I am going to be modding with a Magnaflow 16621 Single In/Out cat back kit this weekend in my driveway.

That said, has anybody here have any experience with this model?

I understand that install a cat back is probably pretty universal, unless its a dual out....any tips would be appreciated.

Looking for any general "known issues" pulling out the stock exhaust and other tips to an worry-free install.

Going to try to take some before and after video for anybody considering this system.

I look forward to any help/ideas you have and contributing more in the future.

Yeah, you should have no problem. You've got a ton of room to work with. Clamp it all tight together and go get the seams welded. Done.

Thanks for the replies...I will be backin it up on to a set of ramps and sawing the old system off between the stock muffler and rear axle...picked up a new blade for my saw, so it looks like I should be good to go.

Will be starting at first light in the AM.

Next project will be the CAI...if she lets me get it

Install complete...had horrible problem with the stock band clamp at the "Y" pipe after the Cats(some torching, cursin, brute force and sawzall'n) ...other than that, went in in about an hour. Plus $20 runner/labor work for my kid...

Took it for a 45 minute spin after the install, mileage appeared to go up almost 2 MPG...very suprised about that.

In the driveway, sounds good, on the road... FREAKIN SWEET...turned a few heads

Here is the video...sound quality not the best, stock sounds were from a overnight cold start...

Enjoy..

Sounds good! I just put in a magnaflow muffler and tip, took out both resonators, I love the sound.
