Yet another muffler (Flowmaster) Question..
The guy at the muffler shop I went to recommended removing BOTH resonators and the muffler and then installing the Flowmaster super 44. Any opinions on this? I want the truck to sound like it has some *****, but I do still want to be able to hear the stereo and not be violating any sound laws. He had also said magnaflow makes a complete system for the truck but I dont want to get to crazy moneywise. (2005 Dak. 3.7L V6 Stock).
After what I spent on the exhaust (flowmaster super 44) and with what the install will cost I was thinking about having the exhaust pipe come out in front of the right rear tire (removing the rear reso and HUGE stock muffler) throw on a chrome single to double tip. I am not sure if it was in the DAK forums but I know of others (after nosing around on here) that have done this. It seems like a lot of you have left the front reso on to keep the cab quiet. I am also thinking that coming out in front of the tire will save me some dough at the installer!
So you have no resos and the super 44? Some say it drones to much at highway speeds? Half of my daily driving is highway. Are you running the 3.7? (sorry, forgot to look before I started this reply)
All you flowmaster owners, I thought I had read somewhere that performance mufflers will change tone as they are broke in, is this true?
2. I left the front reso on removed the muffler, and rear reso (2005), and installed the flowmaster super 44 with the tailpipes exiting in front of the rear passenger tire and it sounds pretty good. What would it do if I had the front reso removed? Would it be loud and annoying in the cab, and/or would it change the tone any? if so, higher or lower? (this is a stock 2005 v6)

Have any of you guys actually looked at the flow rates of those "Flow" master mufflers? I had a 50HD and liked the sound, but the thing turned to swiss cheese on top. I actually did some research before replacing it and found that most FM mufflers actually flow worse than stock...

I have no resos and a 4.7 and i never had a problem with drones. its starting to a little bit now but its been over 2 years
I just purchased a cat back kit off ebay that includes a FM super 44. I plan on leaving the front reso on and thats it. I hope it does not drone, i want to be able to hear the stereo and carry on a conversation...
