Yet another muffler (Flowmaster) Question..
The guy at the muffler shop I went to recommended removing BOTH resonators and the muffler and then installing the Flowmaster super 44. Any opinions on this? I want the truck to sound like it has some *****, but I do still want to be able to hear the stereo and not be violating any sound laws. He had also said magnaflow makes a complete system for the truck but I dont want to get to crazy moneywise. (2005 Dak. 3.7L V6 Stock).
just unbolt the clamp before the axle and take off the back pipe with the small muffler and leave it at that. nice gurgle at cruise. and screams when wide open....and its free
i ripped mine off the day i bought it new. better than wasting money on a slomaster

I put the flowmaster cat back system with the 50 series SUV muffler on my 3.7L, it gives the truck a nice little rumble without being obnoxious. I think it might be what you're looking for. I'm actually thinking of switching to the 40 series muffler for a more aggressive sound. Personally I don't recommend magnaflo, my friend put one of their systems on his F250 and he is very disapointed with the sound. My flowmaster on my V6 sounds tougher than his magnaflo on his V8.
What about all the carbon buildup under the truck from doing this? Not a problem? Maybe I will do this on my 3.7
Everything from the cat-back was removed and replaced with Flowmaster stuff. Sweeeet enough sound for me.

I just took my Flowmaster 40 duals off. It sounded great and at one time I loved it. I got the truck with 30 miles on it and at 35, I had the exhaust on. Now that it is off, with only one muffler and no resonators I am in love again. It has a slight gurgle but no drone on it at all. Also I got some low end torque back. I would say ditch the resonators first and see how you like it.
