Transmission Problem
Ok so I’m not the smartest guy when it comes to pushing my truck to the limit I took my truck out about two weeks ago to do some burn outs well I had a blast until I was almost home and realized my transmission was not working I came to a red light and I gave it some gas to burn out again and it did not go anywhere it started to smell like something was burning so after hitting like 3gs on the rmps it starting to move so I thought I has just worked the trans a little too much so I got home parked the truck and let it cool off so the next day I went to try to see what had happened so the same problem I had to push the gas pedal almost all the way down to get going and when I did I could not go faster than 60mph I took it to the a trans shop and had them look at it they told me I had to get my trans rebuilt and my truck only has 49000 and its a 2006 at well I have no clue when it comes to transmission what’s what well the shop called me after rebuilding the trans and now they tell me it might be the trans computer had anyone had any problems with their trans I just want to justify the 2600 I spent on the rebuild and now possibly another 300 for the computer

I am trying to sort this all out.
You were out ripping on the truck, and it broke.
You took it to the shop and they said it needed a trans rebuild.
They did the work but its still not working?
Is that the jest of that post?
Just trying to understand, the lack of punctuation and spacing is making it tough to read.

control module would not go if you were doing burn outs. most likely u fried the valve body or the clutch plates in it. could have evn damaged the convertor. i rip the crap out of my truck with the nitrous, 90000 miles later, it still plants both tires to the ground with ease, so i doubt its the module. only thing i ever replaced was a torque convertot, and the fluid every 30000 miles
this is a good post why to run synthetic oil and run a extra filter on your return line of your trans and here is the thread talking about the inline trans filter.. Cya Slick

Explain "re-build" in further detail. Assuming they replaced the clutch packs, I would also say torque converter.

It's post like this that make me buy my pickup trucks new, even if I have to save an extra year.
It really stinks you are having a problem with your transmission. That said, whats the point of going out and doing burn outs? I never understood it.....you can burn up tires on a go-kart if you really wanted too, you know? Your not racing, or even moving...and your killing tires...and they are never cheap. Plus you run the risk of something like this happening.
I am not out to lecture anyone about what they do with there property and there money but, maybe it will be a good lesson learned.
I just don't understand the point of a burn out in the automotive world. If f*cking up your tranny, blowin your engine, killing your rear end and destroying your tires is cool, then call me a square.

burning your tires used to just be a way to increase traction for hole shots in a drag race... they have evolved into away to demonstrate the abilities of a vehicle.
