Default check engine light

i have an 05 dakota 3.7 liter and had a check engine light for a while im going to get fixed

the guy at auto zone read the cel and said it was the transmission control module so i call dodge to get a quote n they say the dakotas dont have a tcm only a powertrain control module and only they can fix it because the powertrain control module needs to be programed and they said itd be 530 dollars

any input on this would be great

alright back from the dodge dealership today

its the torque converter in the transmission

dodge said the whole transmission is needs rebuilt (truck still drives perfect) but they quoted me 2400 to fix it so i picked it up today n figured itd prolly be better to have a transmission shop work on it.

anyone ever have this happen or know anything about this
