bead balancing
after three years of being unable to really get my mud tires balanced and stay balanced i think i have found a solution or am at least gonna try something different. i have found and order some ceramic beads to bead balance my tires. the cost for the beads, new valves, and bottle to put them in with is about $65 but hopefully will be worth it in the end. my tire guy says he uses a powder on semi tires but they don't have any for smaller tire he said its the same thing/concept. he also said he has one guy that has him put a bunch of golf ***** in his tires to balance them out. as soon as i get this done i will let you all know how it does and hopefully it will help some of you other guys out.
my buddy was running a bead balance on his mickey 35's it works great even after being caked in mud im doing the same on my next set of rubber... though golf ***** ive never heard of how big of a tire was he running
i think he was using the golf ***** on a tractor tire but i just read that golf ***** are really bad to use. it showed them after a few thousand mile and they were odd shaped and said that on regular tires the golf ***** actually damage the inside of the tires so i'm gonna stick with the little ceramic ones i order from innovativebalancing
I have about 1000 miles on my Dyna-Beads from Innovative Balancing. These things work so well that they give my Rancho shocks a run for "best single mod". I have them in my Cooper Zeon LTZs. They have actually helped me discover that I have a bad tire. You will want to get a Pen Style Engraver to help with the installation into the valve stem. It rapidly vibrates the side of the valve stem and the beads easily roll in, otherwise they get stuck. With it, it takes about 20 minutes. Without it, it takes about 3 hours
im pretty sure you take the weights off but IDK if it'll make a difference cause the beads just hold to the areas of the tire that they need to

Take them off for best results. I work in a comerical tire shop and we use that stuff every day it works great on tractor trailers but as far a pick ups go im not real sure about ride quality so post some reviews after like 3000k or so
You might not want to take all of the weights off. If you have a Lateral Imbalance (side to side) you may need to leave one on. It is in the instructions that come with the beads, or you can rean about it on the Innovative Balancing web site. I got best results from removing all of the weights. So far so good.
so after putting these in my tire witch was a pain in the butt i noticed that my steering wheel shook worse than normal. today i had a nail in my tire and went to get it patched and when we pulled the tire off the rim we noticed that the beads were stuck to to the tire witch the tire guy, who has been dealing with tires his whole life, told me these don't work well in small tires and that they were stuck because of moisture in the tires witch you can't get ride of. so we pulled all the tires off and each one was the same way. in short this was just a waste of money.
