Default help with mpg

ok here we go, we all know how the front cross member is big and bulky and hangs pretty low. specially when you add a lift. would putting a skid plate from the bumper to the bottem of the cross member help any with drag? and does anyone know of any to be bought or am i gonna have to fab one myself. i think that cross member must act like a plow and any redirect of the wind would have to help some.

i agree might look cool. yes it acts as a plow.... i used my truck when is snowed so cars could go down the road to get into town because the township plows were sumwhere else...

agreed it would probably look awesome if you did it right. I'm honestly not sure how well home made aerodymanics work. if your looking for mpgs i would start with an e-fan. That is a proven DIY mpg gain. If you go the way of skid plate get some pics up and make me one haha good luck

k built the skid plate and installed it, not real visable from the front but will definatly help keep the branchs out of the fan belt. specially since im running the efan instead of the stock twig cutter.

first off, you are blocking any type of air that is used for cooling purposes. you may find that the truck will run a little hotter, might want to cut some holes in it to breath on the motor. but drive it around and keep an eye on the temp guage

agreed w/ superdak. I might do 6 3.5" holes in a 3 column and 2 row configuration. How strong is that "skid plate" in the first place? I have never seen a diamond plate skid plate before. It will keep the twigs out, but I think a rock would tear it apart.

I like that! Looks good. How hard is it to pull down though? That would sure be a pain to get the oil filter down without spilling oil all over.

Default i have the exact same checker plate!!!

from radiator frame to frame using the stock skid plate bolts

and stock holes in rad support....i could'nt install the plastic shroud from bumper to rad with bodylift look stoopid.

AWSOME MPG resault my MPG is equal stock truck VS.5,5 lift with agressive 33 and CAI. 400km out of 72$can
