Default need a quick help

hey guys so yesterday i was reading about how the guy switch is pollution thing running gas through the hose that runs into the intake manifold. well i saw mine and thought let me check if the hose is dirty so i let it run for a bit then took the hose off it raised in rpms likes its supposed to then i go to put the hose back on the truck seemed to almost died. now the truck when it idles its now going up and down in rpms. it udeally idels about 700 800 now its getting to 600 and 500. i just took the negative off the batter. id there sumthing else i should do if the battery negative being off dosnt work? it hasnt thrown a code or i would have cleared it. if it was a pending code i have no idea cuz i havent thrown the computer on. i might end up replacing that thing anyways. but any help?

I have no idea, first time I've heard of a guy switch. How is gas getting into the intake manifold? It pumps from the tank, through the line, into the fuel rail, through the injectors(seated in the heads) and into the cylinders? It should not be getting into the intake manifold unless you have an 9th/10th injectgor setup like I do. My 9th/10th injectors spray methanol into boost charge to drop intake temps.

i didnt put gas in mine. i just wanted to look at it myself its not a long hose mine was clean. im just saying that it idles up and down like a carb with cams that up and down in rpms.. thats all ive never noticed it before. i did take the battery off and it seemed to fix it its not as bad now. when its in park or drive its stays 700, 800 when i put it in park for a couple seconds it idles up and down for 2 seconds and then is fine. im just wondering what it was thinking? obivuously the computer thought there was a vacuum leake then put it on and the thing wanted to die... so im guessing that pollution thing is dirty? to me it looks like a tiny trash can thats up near the windshield over the break fluid. anyone have any takes?

At this point we're not sure which hose you're referring to, any chance you could post a pic and circle the one you're talking about?

If its the PCV hose, make sure its connected properly and wasnt damaged when you pulled it off. If theres a leak, the vacuum wont seal properly and it will cause your fluctuation in RPMS.

Next time just check it when your truck is off. No benifit checking it while the truck is running.

Somebody posted a thread a couple days ago about putting gasoline into the vacuum system to clean the PCV valve. I'm pretty sure that is what he is talking about.

i am talk about the PCV but I'm talking about i disconnected the hose then reattached it while the engine was running. shes starting to barely do it. I've notice she is starting to idle better tho. no i did not put gas down it lol. sorry not saying anything bad about the guy but i wouldn't even do that. heres a pic sorry i couldn't get the light on the PCV itself if i just took it... i ended up passing out when i got home from early dinner.

Your PCV valve is off of your oil fill tube, not by the throttle body.
