e-fan help
You know whats funny is before I did this I did not have a clue on how to do it since I never done it before but you know there was really nothing to it.. I say take your time and do the wiring first, then when you get more time do the fan.. Cya Slick
yeah if you are worried about the wiring, dont be. the hardest part is removing the clutch fan and mounting the efan...if you end up getting a spal controller i can take pics of exactly where my wires are hooked up if that would help ease your worries a little bit.
Alright guys, I decided Ill be doing an efan by the end of summer after I get the money saved for my tires. Ill end up doing a controller (probably a spal) and will be posting on here when I have questions on how to wire it in. Thanks alot for your help and the encouragment guys!
I was wondering. Many moons ago, (1981-82???) I bought Toyota's newly introduced mini-pickup in 4x4, (Tacoma predecessor?). In an effort to get some more power out of the 4-banger I installed an e-fan. As I can remember it was a very easy installation. Had to be for me to do it. It had a probe that went in the radiator, one wire for ground, one to the battery with a fuse that all led to a switch in the cab. When the temp. needle would reach a certain previously determined point I would simply switch the fan on and the the temp. would go right down. Of course I didn't have have an AC to worry about. But...Can't you still do it that way???
ok here is the combo i am gonna go with unless anyone knows of any good reason not too. (and if so, please let me know) did alot of searching and comparing on cfm, rpm, size, and of course price. may be alittle more to wire up but spec wise its as good as any other set up i have seen. and of course cheaper.

That should work fine and looks like a fairly simple setup. Start thinking about how you want to mount it up. I mounted mine inside my strock fan shroud and just dropped it back in place. Good luck with the install.
