Don't feel bad, enjoy your truck. The former owner has 12g's and headed to the bingo hall.

Welcome and nice truck and a killer dealer. The best thing about the Dakota is its size and that fully boxed Hyroformed frame. It would make a killer desert buggy. Enjoy the site you will find a ton of help and general info on your new rig.

Definetly dont feel bad. Sure the guy might have been able to get more for his truck .... if he wanted to keep it up for sale for the next year. Its not a great market for trucks right now.

Default Welcome!

One thing we should level set you with: the mileage you get on DAKs is bad, really Really REALLY bad (compared to say a compact car.) You can expect about 14 MPG in stop/go city driving and maybe close to 20 on the highway (actually, I got a shade over 22 once on a straight shot to Florida in a long stretch of construction where I had to keep it around 55) with a 4x4, 4.7L and an automatic tranny.
Other than that, it is a VERY nice truck. Full size truck power and hauling capability in a small(er) truck size. Sounds like you got a really good deal too (my 2007 with about 20K miles was relisted by a dealer at $18K after the lease came up.)
I see form the pics you also got it in SLT trim. I am a big fan of that (my new 2010 is the Bighorn version which is similar and my 2007 was an SLT.) Lots of nice little touches. One thing that some people criticize is the interior design of the DAK, but I suspect those bozos do not live in places that get a lot of snow and cold weather in the winter. Seeing from your plates that you got it in NY, you will learn to appreciate the "made for wearing gloves" design of the big ***** on the climate controls, radio, lights, etc come winter.
