I just had both rear axels replaced because of runout but I’m not believing that. The lug nuts where way over torque at 190 and 185 fp max top is 160 fb (unset and impact wrench). I ended up with this after the dealer during a simple tire rotation and brake inspection. The dealer did do the axel work free out of warranty and put me in a loaner. They are stand up in that respect. Thought my extended warranty covered the bulk and they let me go on the deductable.

Here is what I have replaced on my 05 dakota. Bought it with 28k on it, now has 42k. Not sure what the previous owner may have replaced.

Both lower ball joints
All 4 shocks
Front shock top mounts
Swaybar end links
Drivers side outer tie rod
Front pads/rotors

Thats all I can remember off-hand. Although I know the bushings that the lower shock bolts go through in the front need to be replaced as well.

Driver and Passenger side exhaust manifolds warped - Yes, both at 37,000
Driver and Passenger catalytic converters bad - not yet
CAM sensor replaced 8 times - wow - twice for me, now the IAC is shot
3 power steering pumps in the last 4 weeks - ok that's a mechanic problem
Transmission rebuilt at 50,000 miles - not yet
Overheats going over 6% grades with A/C on - yes, or anytime I hook the boat up to it.

Add to the list....
Front brakes had to be completely replaced - calipers, rotors, lines, pads at 40K
Both VSS sensors replaced at 42K (In progress)
My front U-joints are on their way out at 42K
Front hubs are making noise at 42K (or it's the front differential, I can't tell)
Rear Wheel Speed Sensor replaced at 42K...
Original factory installed trailer wiring is shot and just completely replaced.
PR: wait... I: wait... L: wait... LD: wait... I: wait...wait... Rank: wait... Traffic: wait... Price: wait... C: wait...

I know that with my 08 Dakota that im slowly starting to get tranny problems. Whenever i need to accelerate quickly there is a minor kick in the tranny between 1st and 2nd gear...

Wow..if I read this thread before I bought my Dak, I may have thought twice. I have some mystery noise in my front driver's side wheel, maybe a bearing and possibly something else in there clanking. Also, when I hit certain bumps while driving, it feels like the truck gets tossed around side to side a little. Other than that, I love this truck!
