Alright guys, got it home and pulled the cyl 8 coil and it was all wet. Put the 5/8" socket in just to make sure the plug was tight and it was. Ill have to try and get new gaskets for those coils to try and keep water out of them. That wasnt a fun drive home.

 

I bet not, but the good thing is you know whats wrong with it now. Hopefully it will dry out and end your troubles.

 

Yup, it did start running better when I was almost home. I guess it started getting dried out. Funny how it didnt misfire at all yesterday on my test drive when I finished cleaning some of it. Oh well. Thanks for your help blown and cuban.

 

question? when you went mudding did you leave your custom air intake in.

 

I havent finished it yet ..... and Im happy I didnt. That couldve gotten messy. The whole outside of the cold air box was mudd, but the inside stayed clean with just the stock inlet from the fender in place.

 

Here's a suggestion for your future mudding trips. Many years ago when I use to Mud Bog, we kept a can of DW40 handy to spray the Coil and plug wires to help evaporate moisture that got on them. This worked like a charm and got us back on the road quickly.

Yeah, I think Im going to skip mudding next time my friends decide to go out. My truck is such a mess right now, and the engine compartment is the worse. I still havent figured out how I want to tackle it yet.

 

mudding is fun and can be done but you need to take certain precautionary steps like protect intake ( snorkle) seal plugs/disperse water I modded my stock air box for this purpose which ill swap out for my k&n when I go play hendrixx has a pic ill try and post one tomorrow
