Thanks! I am excited so i did not wait the couple of weeks like i had planned and just got finished ordering it! lol... I ordered from the same vendor but different item number that was $25 more to include stainless steel tips in case anyone is looking for a similar set up here is the link.

btw this vendor has several configurations with different mufflers (cherry bomb, flowmaster, magnaflow etc...) and has good ebay feedback.

Brian9, I ordered mine from the same vendor. I have an 05 CC, 4.7 (not H.O.). Be aware that this kit requires an addidional pipe if your exhaust is the same as mine with a resonator in front of the muffler. The extension pipe that is supplied with the kit will not work with that resonator in place cause the pipe coming out of it is bent and the extension pipe is straight. So you have to cut off the front reso to get to a straight piece of pipe, but then the extension pipe that comes with the kit is too short. I had to go buy another 18" extension pipe to make it all work. and since I do not have access to a welder, my exhaust now has 7 muffler clamps holding it all together....lol....eventually I will take it somewhere to have it all welded up, but i'm going to replace that pos flowmaster with a magnaflow first.

Thanks for the heads up. I talked to the vendor and he said he would make changes if needed to fit my particular application. I do not see a resonator in front of my muffler. Please see below picture. The area of the pipe that attached to the muffler is straight then turns to a bend a little further down. I have only had this truck a month and not familiar with to much about them.

looks like I would just be able to detach the old muffler and fit in the new one no problems. Anyone want to chime in if that is correct or not? Thanks.

The First resonator would be facing the other way, towards the engine.
If you only see the muffler and (maybe) a resonator attached to the tailpipe, you should be ok.
I stopped by my local Meineke shop in town today to price out true duals (from each cat back, two knockoff magna mufflers, 2 1/2 aluminized all the way back with 18" stainless tips of my choice)...$500.00 installed!
Might just do it.....

The front reso should be about a foot in front of the muffler. Looks like yours does not have one. Here is my stock exhaust system" front reso on the left, stock muffler, rear reso on the right. Where the issue is is that offset in the pipe where the hanger is. The extension pipe supplied with the kit is straight. You can see in the second pic the offset is only one way, so leaving the front reso in was not possible cause it did not line up with the center inlet of the muffler.

Why would I need the Y pipe? They would cut back as much as possible from the Y pipe and run two separate pipes with two mufflers and tail pipes..

not sure, i've heard that too much free-flow can actually be bad, so they make "cross-over" pipes if your doing away with the "Y" pipe.....something about balancing the backpressure or something....

idk about all that..... they do it for cost savings and space savings. hence why the higher end cars come with dual exhaust. backpressure is really a turbo thing. not THAT important in a NA car. imo the best sounding and cheapest is what i did....rip it off and weld in a 45 degree tip facing down. ive gotten so many compliments when i fire the truck up. yet no annoying drone at cruising speeds.
