Default ?'s about upgrades

well i'm leveling my truck when i get back and putching Rancho 5300RS shocks on it. Also EBC front Dilled and slotted rotors with new pads in the rear and brake fluid flush.

but my ? is would it be worth it to put High Flow cats on leaving the stock y pipe? I have both Resonators removed with 2.5 in piping to FM 40 Series muffler and comes out in front of the rear passenger tire.

Electric fan...i've heard positive and negative things and i'm not a mechanicaly inclined person, would this be better for the truck for the long haul and horespower wise?

FlashPaq tuner...read things about it and dont really know if the gains are noticeable and worth it with this tuner any insight on this product?

Hypertechs are good but I prefer Superchips or SCT. If you plan on big mods then you would benefit more with the SCT. If not, go with the Superchips. Big mods would be Nitrous, Boost, cams etc.

Replacing the stock catalytic converters with high flow cats will certainly help with flow. If you are not planning on boost or biggers cams the stockers will do fine. If you decide to go supercharged or turbo, they will have to go.

Electric fans are definately the way to go. The stock clutch fan is a parasite stealing power from the crank. Average gain is 10-15 rear wheel horse power with an efan. Find you a good fan controller and a good efan and you will be set.

I use a SPAL controller with a Proform efan.

I recommend the SPAL controller because they are plug and play. Your controller is activated by

#1 Engine Temperature. You can splice the pcm wire from the sensor or your kit might have a water temp sensor you will have to push into the radiator. Some kids have the ability to use an aftermarket sensor.

#2 A/C Compressor activation.

I using a Proform 67016 fan rated for 2200 cfm, shipped for $65

with SPAL controller FAN-PMW you can find pretty cheap if you bid on them fast.

You might also consider the HHR fan as its rated for 3000 cfm.

do a search for electric fan....tons of posts, even getting one from a taurus at a junkyard that someone did for like cheap, the expensive and/or complicated part is tying it into the a/c circuit from what I have read. or, what blown said....somewhere around here is a beginning to end "how to" for installing an electric fan.

Taurus because the size fits, and they are commonly available in the junkyard. Unfortunately I have not done this mod yet.

okay well i'll look into getting those parts then and having them sent to my house so when i get back to the states and on leave i can put it on. I'll be having someone do the work because 1. i dont have a shop or heated garage to do it in and 2. I'm not mechanically inclined really i mean yeah oil changes and rear diffs are one thing, but electrics...nope never messed with it and not gonna start now!
