Yeah, for a while I thought mine was stones in the treads too...kinda what it sounds like. So, how soon should I get this fixed? Is it expensive if not warranteed?

Well you can't buy just the bearing, but you buy the entire hub assembly which vary in price depending on if you have 4 wheel or 2 wheel anti-lock and what brand you go with. They range from $100-175. Then if you arent mechanically inclined add labor which they'll probably charge ya a 1/2 day. I would guess around 300 or more total and that again varies by area. I could be wrong too. With your truck though you should still be under factory warranty regardless whether you bought it new or used. The 3yr/36k mile warranty should cover ya. Do some asking. Yeah, I bought it used off an older lady. No mention of a warranty at all, and no paperwork for anything about a warranty either. Do I just stroll up to the local dealership and ask? Mine's 4wd with abs, btw.

Yeah just stroll up to the dealer. The factory warranty should be still active, I guess though if she bought it real early it may have ran out. I would ask questions. All they need is your VIN. The dealer I mostly deal with only asked for the VIN. No other questions were asked when I had warranty work done. The only warranty that you would have lost is the extended (if she bought one)n unless you transferred it and or the lifetime powertrain (if the 07 was bought after June/July 07) because thats only valid for the original owner.

BUMP....so, does anyone have a good step by step to remove and replace a hub assembly in a 2007 dak 4x4? Thanks in advance

Another bump....not lazy, just short on free time. So I still haven't fixed this yet, but I noticed when I took a right out of my parking lot at work (which has a 1/2 inch drop over the curb going into the street), it made a sort of bump/clanky kinda noise. I've heard this before with the wheel cranked to the right backing up, but never so much going forward. I pulled out slow etc, but it still did it. Sounds like something's loose and banging against something. I noticed it as the one wheel went down over the 1/2 inch curb, and didn't do it at all after straightening back out. Could this all just be the wheel bearing/hub? I didn't think the bearing was as spent as it may be. Any thoughts?

"Bump/clanky" noise sounds like it could be some broken linkage somewhere. Have you got under the truck to look at the sway bar links and tie rod ends? Even ball joints. I thought a wheel bearing was more of a grinding/whining noise. Also, with the truck jacked up, spin the front wheel that you think has the bad wheel bearing. If it makes noise, then its probably your wheel bearing. Wheel bearings will make more noise with no load vs the load of the truck on it. But I dont think a wheel bearing will clank.

Yeah, I've lifted it and spun the wheel, and it does make a clicky noise every time it goes around, so that's that. I'm just wondering if I may have multiple probs now. I did yank on some other things under there to check for something loose...nothing, unless I didn't look good enough.
